Analysis Of Nicholas Carr's 'Is Google Making Us Stupid'?

In Nicholas Carr's argument "is Google making us stupid", he claims that the internet has actually affect how human beings process information. That it has affected human beings negatively.
He used the first two paragraphs to establish his ethos. He gave an illustration using a scene from Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A space odyssey where HAL, the supercomputer is being disassembled by the man the machine nearly killed.
Carr demonstrated his knowledge of the subject matter by giving a very well researched account of how text on the internet is streamlined to make browsing experience fast, efficient and optimized for profit. His knowledge of the subject matter is also evident in the citations from scholarly and scientific sources that he gave.
He demonstrated character by using his personal experience. He stated that he and his friends and bloggers that he follows have all felt the same way that he felt about the internet. This automatically makes the readers follow that people around the world and even his own personal social circle have felt the same way.
He demonstrated goodwill by presenting himself as a person who has the interest of the audience at heart because he tried effortlessly to inform others of the troubles of a vast accessible information and to motivate others not to rely heavily on the internet.
I think Nicholas Carr is credible because his argument is clear, wells thoughts out and with a strong delivery. He provided a good argument with much supportive details. He even brought out both sides of the argument, but still focused on the main idea.
