Life Of Ekene Episode 5 By Ahmed Abdulkabir Ekene was fully aware of nurse Aisha's feelings for him and it was mutual. He moved close to her and tried looking for the imaginary crawling monster on her back. Ekene found nothing, just the beautiful skin of a beautiful lady, the best he had ever seen. Nurse Aisha was spotless beyond definition and effortlessly beautiful. If she was Medusa, the entire world would have died from gazing at her. "Found anything yet?" She asked calmly. "Em...nothing here Aisha, sure you are not imagining things?". She smiled at Ekene and when he made to  return to his seat, nurse Aisha held his hands firmly. " Don't go" she said quietly. A cold feeling ran down Ekene's spines and sent shockwaves through his entire body. "How can one lady make me feel this way?" Ekene thought to himself. This is something he had never felt before. He was a player alright, but he was always the one sending shockwaves th

Life Of Ekene Episode 4 By Ahmed Abdulkabir As soon as Ekene heard "let's burn the criminal", he started begging the people around to spare his life. " Madam, Oga, bros, I am not a thief o. I am innocent, my name is Ekene". One elderly man looked at Ekene, shrugged, and said "Tufiakwa! You cannot be an Igbo person. We Igbos are not criminals". Within few minutes, there were angry faces all around Ekene. Some were breathing heavily, some mothers carried their babies on their back and were cursing seriously, code switching from English to Yoruba and vice versa. Some street touts held planks enough to build a baby cot and they were all waiting for the vigilante chief's order before they tear Ekene to shreds. " Calm down my people. As we don catch this member of badoo cult now, na to jejely use this one give example to the others " said the vigilante chief, who has already smoked two packs of Benson switch and he reeked of alomo bitte

Life Of Ekene Episode 3 By Ahmed Abdulkabir The trees outside the morgue were blowing furiously and singing aggressively like something pissed them off. The sounds they were making seemed like a burial song in Ekene's village. At least that was what he thought they sounded like. Ekene tried to muster courage by moving to the window to see what was happening outside. As he carefully peeped out of the window, he saw the reason for all of nature's revolt. The sky was heavy, pitch black and it was already drizzling outside. Having known this, Ekene heaved a sigh of relief and returned to his duty post. His mind embarked on a far distant journey to a far distant land where he was a king and had beautiful female servants who were all walking around naked in his palace. That reminded him of a popular Eddy Murphy movie where a female servant said "the royal pennis is clean your Highness". He smiled to himself and held his crotch. " I must blow! " he sai

Life Of Ekene  Episode 2 By Ahmed Abdulkabir Ekene ran into the room faster than the Jamaican speed maestro. He was looking like a mad man. His friends , Abu and Kunle kept staring at him. Their curious eyes followed him every where he went. "Guys what now? Can you stop staring at me like that? It makes me uncomfortable." Ekene said. "Bro, are you sure you are alright? Like, are you sane? Why are you unclad? What's chasing you?" Abu asked. "I'll rather not talk about it" Ekene said, irritated by the series of questions Abu was throwing at him. He slammed the bathroom door and the room became quiet, the only sound in the room was the way Ekene was pouring water on himself aggressively. Pouring out his anger on the poor bathing bowl. After he took a warm bath, he narrated his ordeal to his friends who laughed at him. They talked about Ekene's 'ugly incident' for months before the issue died down. Ekene just graduated from the Uni

Life Of Ekene Episode 1 By Ahmed Abdulkabir As soon as he alighted from the 'keke napep', he looked left and right and then looked at the photograph he was holding. A hawker approached him and asked "Oga, you want pure water? Na three twenty naira". With contempt, he hissed and looked at the photograph again, as if he was hoping to find a million naira in it. The hawker went about her business and kept murmuring to herself. I believe she was cursing Ekene though. With the way Ekene was hissing, if one didn't look properly, one would think q giant snake was in the neighborhood. " What's taking this girl so long na? " he said to himself. "Hello", came the lovely voice from across the road. Ekene quickly looked at the photograph for the third, raised his head and smiled. As he was crossing the road, he kept checking himself out.  He was putting on a vintage shirt, tucked into his slim fitted jeans, his #3500 shoe was shining and o
